SAFMA supports, represents and advances the cause and interests of the Facilities Management  Community in South Africa.

     

Objectives of SAFMA

The primary objectives of SAFMA are to:

  • Facilitate, promote and support skills development - thereby enhancing skills supply
  • Promote Networking between facilities management professionals
  • Represent the industry in public and private structures and initiatives to assure member interest
  • Create a home for the industry for reference knowledge, information or direction
  • Promote awareness and growth of the facilities management industry
  • Provide the  Facilities Management industry with a common voice.
  • Enhance the credibility of Facilities Management.

To be a self sustaining body recognised locally and internationally for its meaningful role in facilitating recognition of the South African FM Community.

About the South African Facilities Management Association

SAFMA's National Structure comprises a National Council and one Provincial Council in the  Western Cape. The National Council consists of the President, the Vice President, a Treasurer and candidates leading various Special Interest Groups (SIGs).

The National Council is responsible for overall strategy, the National/International positioning of SAFMA and ensures the progress of the following functions:

  • Membership
  • Professionalisation of the industry
  • Benchmarking
  • Communications
  • Education
  • Constitutional Affairs

National Council work closely with the regional councils to achieve a cohesive and structured national policy framework for these.
